Negative elbow lever, O soto gari/O soto otoshi

The techniques are extremely fast, consistently and hard to perform!

At threats there is basically a defensive posture (eg hands up) set up and the aggressor has to to calm down or distract by submissive speeches

  • Initial situation
    • The aggressor is located in front of the defender
    • Threat from the front with the cutting edge at the lateral throat

  • Avert threat
    • Speaking as a distraction
    • Give up attitude (Hands up)
    • Both handed hand edge strike (Tegatana ate) into the hollow of the elbow of the weapon guiding arm
    • The hands stay in the elbow hollow and press the forarm strongly onto the own chest, during ...
    • ... the upper body is bended strongly forward
    • Doing this, a painful „negative“ elbow lever takes effect, while a strong, jerky execution
