Elbow strech lever, Fixation in the ground

basic defense posture while choking: Chin to chest / Pull up shoulders / Tense neck muscles

  • Initial situation
    • The defender in the supine position on the ground
    • The aggressor kneels or squats laterally next to the defender
    • Strangle attack from the side with both hands

  • Defense technique
    Elbow strech lever, Ude hisigi juji gatame
    • Fixation of the proximal strangulation hand at the throat
    • Lift the leg on the side of the fixed hand ...
    • ... and wrap around the neck, if necessary, the head of the aggressor can be pushed away with the non-fixing hand.
    • The other leg is brought with the shin in front of the chest of the aggressor. The arm still remains fixed to the throat.
    • Due to pressure of the leg (calf) against the side of the throat of the aggressor, it is drawn in the supine position.
    • The fixed arm is located between the legs

Strangle attacks pose a threat to life, they are consistent, timely and hard to fend off!
