Sekito Ate - Footpad shocks

There are a variety of footpad shocks/strikes. Significant here is the distinction in stung foot pushes (Kekomi) and snaped foot strikes (Keage). In both it is important that only the knee moves, and only when it has reached the endposition, the foot will be thrown toward the target.

Mae geri - Forward kick
The forward kick is probably in reality most applicable kicking technique. The knee is pulled up in front of the body and the toe is pulled inward. The ball of the foot is jerked from the knee joint to the target (Ke age) or pushed from the hip to the target. Possible hit points are lower abdomen, abdomen, chest and more.

The kick itself is conducted in three phases:

  • • High tightening of the knee, thus it can be both very high and very deep tread, while with a less tightened knee it is not possible to kock to above.
  • • Strong stretching the leg forward to the target. When Pressing however, make sure that the leg is not fully depressed, as this would lead to serious injuries in the knee.
  • • Retract the foot to make sure the stability.
