Yubisaki Ate - Fingertips shocks

The finger stitch (Yubisaki Ate) is one of the most effective atemi techniques and aimed primarily against vital points and soft tissues, such as the larynx, eyes or other Kyusho points. Fingers form with the hand a flat surface and need to be stretched. A very strong tension in the hand and fingers is necessary to avoid injury to the finger joints at the strike. The technique is performed having a straight movement to the target. There are several variations:

  • The two-finger stitch targets to both eyes, contact attacks can be solved.
  • At the hand stitch the fingers are close together and the tips of the fingers are slightly curved to avoid sagging.
  • At sword finger index and middle fingers are merged for mutual stabilization.
