Elbow lever: Ude hisigi hizi gatame

Advantage:

  • Technique can be rapidly released
  • No change of techniques (defense - fixation)
  • Technique is fast attachable

Disadvantage:

  • Lack of overview of the surrounding area
  • Control only over pain

The aggressor is brought to the ground in the prone position by a variant of the Hand twist flexor lever (Kuzure kote gaeshi) with support of an elbow stretch lever an fixed by an elbow stretch lever an pressure on the triceps tendon.

Use at opposite grip to the wrist:

The grip on the wrist is loosed by a rotational movement inwards by the help of the free hand, doing this the fingers press onto the inner wrist. By a further rotation of the wrist the hand twist flexor lever (Kuzure kote gaeshi) takes effect. At the same time a body rotation about 180° next to the aggressor is executed to the side of the levered hand.

By the help of a corresponding pressure by the forearm onto the stretched elbow of the aggressor and a further body rotation in the same direction, the aggressor is brought circular into the prone position. The other hand keeps the hand twist flexor lever by a rotation of the fixed wrist alive.

The stretched arm of the aggressors is now fixed in an 90° angle to his body onto the ground. Doing this the elbow tip points upwards. The defender is located lateral next to the stretched arm; in the angle between arm and body, and sets his index finger base joint above the elbow tip on to the triceps tendon of the fixed arms. By pressure downwards and pulling the bended hand of the aggressor upwards, the lever takes effect.
It is possible to apply at the wrist of the aggressors a hand flexor lever (Te kubi garami).

Instead of the pressure by index finger base joint, it is possible to set the knee onto the tendon.
