Hand lever: Kote mawashi - Hand twist lever

Advantage:

  • Technique is fast to solve
  • No change of techniques (defense - fixation)

Disadvantage:

  • Single point of contact is the wrist
  • Control only over pain

Here the aggressor is brought to the ground by a variant of the hand twist lever (Kote mawashi) and also fixed by it in the supine position. The defense technique in the stand will be continued until the aggressor is in the ground and the same technique will be used for fixation.

Use at diagonal grip to the wrist:

The aggressor grips the diagonal opposite wrist of the defender. The defender fixes the fingers (not the back of the hand) of the gripping hand with the palm of the other hand on his own forearm (spoke bone) by strong pressure.

By a rotation of the gripped arm from the bottom inside to the upper outside and gripping the attacking forearm as close to the wrist, with the gripped hand, the wirst of the aggressors is bend in a 90° angle. The defender is shorten the distance to the aggressor, doing this the elbow joint of the fixed arm is also bended by 90°.

The defender bends his upper body downwards to let the lever take effect. The aggressor kneels downwards. Now a corresponding push to the front is performed, so the aggressor can be set into a supine position.

The defender kneels lateral next to the aggressor, doing this the elbow of the fixed arm is clamped between the knees. During the entire phase of bringing the aggressor down to the ground, the initially scheduled grip at the wrist of the aggressor is not been loosed or changed.
