Tsuri komi goshi - Lifting pulling hip

The throwing entrance is analogous to Harai goshi, but TORI must go to a deep squat to get under the lower body (center of gravity) of UKE. TORI's right hand grasps UKE's left sleeve, as far as possible at the end of the sleeve; e.g. after an inner forearm block. TORI stretches his legs, thus UKE is raised, this is supported by the stretching of TORI's right arm. His right arm must be lifted upward as far as possible, so that UKE's arm is fully extended (above the head). When turning towards UKE, TORI can give UKE a painful blow to the appropriate pressure points (Kysho) with his right elbow to the head.

The right arm of TORI must keep, during the entire execution of the throw, close contact with UKE's left arm. Through the use of the hips, the pull of the right hand forward (after stretching upward) and the pulling of the left hand to bottom, UKE falls over TORI's right hip. UKE is raised up using the right hand and being pulled with the left hand forward.

Anwendung:
The technique offers a lot of potential if the attacker attacks with a powerful punch to the head and this is parried by an inner block. Here, the horizontal impact energy is redirected into a vertical upward direction.
