Tomoe nage - Circle throw

TORI puts his left foot between the legs of UKE, as far as possible behind the base line of UKE, TORI simultaneously pulling with both hands UKE far forward, or assumes UKE's forward momentum, so UKE is lifted onto his foot. TORI falls to the ground respectively on his back with all his weight by simply sitting down. At the same time TORI raises his right foot, and places it on UKE's lower body, below the navel (this point is limited by the pubis below and up through the navel, is called in Japanese "Tanden").

TORI lies on his back, UKE is in strong bent position and "lies" on TORI's right foot. TORI continues to exert very strong train with his arms and stretches out his right leg. He leads his leg back, as if he wants to run a reverse role. Here he relies himself and his back with the bent left leg.

UKE is leaving his position above TORI and turns on his wrists, which are located on the shoulders of TORI, to finally fall on his back over TORI. UKE’s position after the fall is in the same line with TORI. At the conclusion of the technique there also can be a reverse role appended, TORI then lands on UKE sitting (Maki tomoe).

Usage:
This technique can be very well applied to an attacker with a strong forward movement, e.g. when he comes running towards the defender. The disadvantage is that the defender puts himself in a disadvantageous position because he goes to the floor.
