Tani otoshi - Valley drop

TORI puts his right foot in front of the right foot of UKE, somewhat laterally outward. At the same time, TORI brings his chest on the right side of UKE, moves his left arm, the right arm of UKE down, this movement is aided by his right arm, which is located at UKE's left collar. This will UKE fixate on his heels. Due to TORI body weight UKE's is strongly pulled down, thus is placing UKE's weight, especially on his right foot. TORI now is setting his left leg behind the right leg of UKE.

Once in this position TORI stretches, while he turns his entire body clockwise to UKE around his left leg behind UKE's left heel. He has with his whole body, chest and abdomen, close contact with the right side of UKE. TORI draws with his left hand UKE's right arm against his left hip while pushing with his right arm UKE backwards, which can also be followed by a corresponding impact pressure here. UKE and TORI fall as one unit, TORI does not ultimately falls on UKE. UKE falls backwards to the floor. TORI falls beside him on his left side, UKE is located on the left leg of TORI.

Usage:
If the attacker has close physical contact to the defender, e.g. in clinches, headlock, etc. This technique can be useful if there is no other possibility of exemption or the attacker is very strong. Again, one should consider the disadvantages that the defender will put himself on to the ground.
