Yoko wakare - lateral separation

UKE is brought by corresponding train of the arms of TORI forward off balance. TORI slides with his right foot between his left foot and the right foot of UKE to the left. He turns his body with his hip as a fulcrum as well to the left. The foot is hereby pushed over the mat, without being lifted.

While TORI pulls UKE with his left hand down and pushes contrary with his right hand up, he lets himself fall across the front of UKE's feet on his left side. UKE is moved by the body weight of TORI down and falls forward over TORI. When TORI is dropping to the ground, he blocks with his hip, the left leg of UKE.

Usage:
At strong pressure of the attacker, this technique can be applied well if the opponent is physical superior: It is important that the defender utilizes the pressure accordingly and amplified by pulling the attacker by his hands. The technique involves the risk that the attacker kicks when the defender is laying in front of his legs. The technique must be performed quickly, powerfully and consistently in order to succeed.
