basic defense posture while choking: Chin to chest / Pull up shoulders / Tense neck muscles

  • Initial situation
    • The aggressor is located in front of the defender
    • Two handed strangulation in the stand

  • Loosen grip
    • bilateral, circling striking movement with the forearms from below and from the inside to the outside against the forearms of the aggressor

  • Defense technique
    Foot throw, O soto gari
    • Pull with a hand at the wrist / forearm of the aggressor
    • Approach on the grip side of O soto gari
    • In the execution; strike and then applying pressure to the side of the neck on the opposite side of the throwing approach with the elbow flexor
    • Execution of the throw while retaining the pull on the arm of the aggressor

  • Completion

Strangle attacks pose a threat to life, they are consistent, timely and hard to fend off!
