Otoshi Uke - „falling“ forearm block

Otoshi uke offers itself as a defensive technique in the lower Chudan or upper Gedan area; e.g. Knee shocks (Hiza gashira ate), frontal kicks (Mae geri) or a knife attack from below. The block will be done with the downward striked horizontally forearm, The impact surface is the ulna. This technique is also modifiable as seeping technique, the blocked extremity is deflected to the side shortly after the contact.
